Medicines in School
At Moss Side, because we value the consistent attendance of our pupils, we are always eager that our pupils’ attendance is not hindered by medical issues which – if supported in school – would reduce the need for absences.
Should a child require medication in school time, we would normally expect the child’s parent or their representative to come into school to administer the medicine.
We do understand that this is not always possible and, in that instance, we would ask that parents follow our school policy in order to ensure that medicines are handled and administered with appropriate care. Please could parents therefore:
- Bring in any medication at least 5 minutes before the start of the school day in order to reduce the disruption to learning time.
- Complete the medication consent form (which can be downloaded at home) before delivering the medication to your child’s class teacher or class teaching assistant.
- Collect the medication at the end of the school day.
